This ain’t no place for no hero

Gearbox have followed up Borderlands with an awesome sequel—Borderlands 2.

These role playing shooters (RPS) are set on Pandora—a planet pretty much on the outer rim of civilisation (that’s probably why it’s called Borderlands right?). If you’re thinking about the awesome space western Firefly, you’re thinking the right kind of setting.

A setting like this demands an awesome soundtrack, with an especially awesome introduction track. The original Borderlands brought us Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked by Cage the Elephant (Borderlands fans should check out this fan comic). Borderlands 2 has done it again, with Short Change Hero by The Heavy (not the actual film clip). Both songs start slow, but their funky alt-rock-country grooves will have you by the end. Enjoy!

Bass tabs for Short Change Hero are rarer than epic loots, and I dunno what key guitarists are playing those ‘chords’ in but this sounds good to me. Get your bass out and lay down a groove! 🙂 If you’ve got suggestions, drop a comment!

  1. Moving Gb up an octave in the last couple of riffs is nice (and I think how it’s played in the song)—that’s 4th fret on the D-string, just ease the song out ~:)
